Frequently Asked Questions

Q. How can I place a catering request?
A. Catering orders can be placed on our Catertrax website.


Q. Do I need an account to place an order?
A. Yes, you will need to create an account to place your catering request. The account set up process takes about 2 minutes to create your portal. Your portal will be where you can gather invoices, check on event status, and request changes to your event.


Q. When is the latest I can place a catering request?
A.   Catering requests must be placed with enough time to allow our caterer to secure food and servers. Any orders outside of these guidelines may be subject to change based on availability. We will always work with you to make your events successful. 
• Monday – Friday catering requests (excluding holidays) between 8am-5pm need to be placed at least 3 business days before.
• Monday – Friday catering requests (excluding holidays) outside business hours need to be placed at least 1 week in advance.

 


Q. How do I know my catering order is confirmed?
A. The email sent by Catertrax upon placement of an order is not a confirmation.  Confirmations must come from the Guckenheimer team directly.  Please see their contact information below:

Q. How do I make changes to my catering request?
A. All changes must be approved by the catering manager. Gukenheimer does their best to accommodate all change requests, however, they are approved on a case-by-case basis.  This includes changes to food, delivery times, and location of setup.


Q. Where can I have catering?
A. Most cafes, breakrooms, and meeting spaces on campus can handle catering requests depending on their size.  All spaces must be booked through facilities with an understanding that rooms may have already been reserved. 


Q. What do I need to provide for catering?
A. The catering team may ask for table space to be setup for catering needs (i.e., placement of chafers). Requests for tables must be made with a facilities request at least 1 week in advance. If any AV is needed, a separate form has to be filled out for those requests.

Q. Is it required to use this vendor for catering?
A. Yes. We ask that any catering orders be placed through Guckenheimer moving forward so we can benefit from economies of scale and ensure a consistent experience across Eaton Center. If there is any external catering ordered, Guckenheimer is not responsible for supplying any paper products for the event.

 


Q. Who do I contact with questions or feedback?
A. Please contact Sheila Lada or William Burke and they will reach out as soon as they are able. 


Q. Is there a minimum number of event participants to qualify for catering?
A. Yes, established minimums will apply. For all deliveries, the minimum requirements are $100 in hot food or $150 in beverages. 


Q. Is there a delivery or set-up fee for catering events?
A. There will not be a delivery or set-up fee for standard catering orders. Custom requests may
require a delivery or set-up fee. 


Q.  Can I change the location of the catering event? 
A.   Absolutely, we can change the location of the event at no charge for up to 48 hours before
      the event, and within 24 hours for a small fee, $25 room adjustment fee. Any changes the    
      day of the event will incur a $100 relocation fee.


Q.  Is there a minimum spend for any after hours event?     
A.  Yes. For any event after normal hours (4:00 pm), we require a minimum of $550 of hot and/or  
      food and non-alcoholic beverages. This cost is not inclusive of any alcohol service, labor or 
      sales tax.
